IWID organized an Interface with Dr. R.M.Ramathal, Former Chairperson, State Women Commission on 6.12.2010 at ICSA center Egmore. The discussion held by Women activists and academicians with former chair person was aimed at exploring opportunities and newer paradigms towards ensuring Gender just society.

During the interaction with the group, Dr.R.M.Ramathal shared her experience towards working for women empowerment as the chairperson of State Commission for Women. Dr. R.M. Ramathal addressed that Women have to take up huge struggles in order to ensure their status in the society.

Dr. Neelavalli, Director IWID, expressed that renewal of relationships with committed individuals and association with forums and networks of similar mission and vision will bring about desired changes in the policies, acts and laws of the state and will culminate a renewed society focusing total empowerment of women.

Around 50 civil society members, volunteers, academicians participated in the interaction. Earlier Dr.R.M. Ramathal was felicitated by Dr.Neelavalli, Director IWID.
